COURT CONDUCT AND DRESS

Conduct

All Courtroom proceedings shall be conducted with dignity and civility.  Spectators and witnesses will not speak out loud unless requested to do so by the Court.  Spectators will not verbally or non-verbally respond to the court proceedings.  The Judge has the authority to hold persons in contempt for inappropriate conduct and may remove them from the courtroom or impose other sanctions.  Anyone entering the courtroom shall comply with any rules or etiquette posted outside the courtroom.

Dress

T-shirts, halter tops, tank tops, shorts, hats, and similar clothing are not appropriate in the courtroom.  The Judge has the authority to ban anyone no appropriately dressed from observing or participating in court proceedings.

Children

Because some proceedings are not appropriate for young children and they are sometimes disruptive in a courtroom, young children should not be brought into the courtroom unless so directed by the Court or if prior permission is given by the Court.

Electronic Equipment

All electronic equipment (cell phones, pagers, recording equipment, etc.) must be turned off when entering the courtroom.  Photographic or audio equipment is prohibited unless approved by the Court.
