Probation Reporting

After sentencing, your file is sent to the 71A District Court Probation Department for processing.  Your first appointment with your probation officer is a very important meeting.  This is called your "First Report" to probation, which occurs immediately after sentencing.

It is at this time that the probation officer will gather information about your.  The probation officer will be particularly interested in any current legal charges in addition to the one for which you are starting probation, your legal record, and the past and present psychological treatment history.  The terms and conditions of your probation will be explained to you during your First Report.  Program referrals will also be explained to you.

You are required to report to your probation officer once a month.  Report days are held on the first three Tuesdays only.  Report times are between 8:00 am and 11:45 am, and 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm.

You are not allowed to leave the State of Michigan without your probation officers permission.
